About Tessa

Lyric soprano Tessa Laengert is an emerging young artist based in Toronto. Tessa is quickly establishing herself in both operatic and concert performances.  She made her principal role debut with the Summer Opera Lyric Theatre in 2013 in the title role of Mimi in La Bohème, as well as her role debut with Opera in Concert in Impresario (2013).

“The first aria, entitled Si, mi chiamano Mimi, had the character’s warmth and naivety. Quando m’en vo exuded the flirtatious charm of the character Musetta. Laengert’s voice had a supple clarity. Her top notes projected with ease. Her theatricality was evident with the subtle gestures and expressiveness that told the story.”

Toronto Concert Reviews

“To have Oakville’s own Tessa Laengert perform in Poulenc’s Gloria will be wonderful. It’s an amazing piece and Tessa is a particularly exciting performer.”
